Don’t forget to use the restroom prior to your appointment time.
During your client health review prior to your massage, discuss any health changes, recent surgeries and injuries, and any medicine changes with your massage therapist.
Do not eat, take medications, or drink alcohol 1-1/2 to 2 hours before your appointment.
Bathe on the day of your massage appointment.
Women do not shave your legs on the day of your massage.
No perfumes, colognes or heavily scented lotions, hairsprays or smoking odor.
Please remove all jewelry, watches, and rings. It is best to leave them in a safe place, preferably at home, as people often leave their jewelry behind, then have to make a return trip.
You do not need to disrobe; dress comfortably if you wish to keep clothing on during the massage. Wear loose fitting clothing, such as exercise clothing. If you have concerns about disrobing, discuss them with your therapist, but keep in mind that your therapist’s work may be more effective without the encumbrance of clothing. Your therapist will support your preference of keeping something on.
Note: You will be draped at all times by a sheet to protect your modesty.
Make sure you’re happy with the pressure being used. Your therapist will adjust accordingly. Your feedback is wanted.
It is important to drink water before and after the massage.
To talk or not to talk during the massage, it is up to you.
Enjoy your massage session. Breathe deeply. Be prepared for a change in your overall state; you may be disoriented due to the deep relaxation received from the massage.
